In der hauseigenen Werkstätte arbei- ten Tischler, Schlosser, Maler und Elektriker, sie halten die 17.000 Quadratmeter Veranstaltungsflächen einsatzbereit. Tischler halten das historische Parkett, aber auch Türstöcke, Tischplatten und Registraturpulte instand. Über 150 Wände und 35 Decken, deren histo- rische Substanz auch mit wertvollen Materialien wie Gold und Hofdamast aufwartet, werden von eigenen Experten gepflegt. Die Schlosser sind nicht nur für mehr als 180 Schlösser und 500 Schlüssel verantwortlich, sie bauen auch kleine TransportwägenundführenSchweißer- arbeiten durch. Damit die Veranstal- tungen in den Prunkräumen und modernen Glaskonstruktionen in glän- zendem Licht erstrahlen, sind hausei- gene Elektriker rund um die Uhr tätig. Sie kontrollieren und verlegen Leitun- gen, garantieren optimale Stromver- sorgung im richtigen Spannungsver- hältnis und pflegen das HKLS-System (Heizungs-, Klima-, Lüftungs- und Sanitärsystem). Der Veranstaltungsaufbau läuft über das Einrichtungs-Team ab, das auch bei engem Zeitkorsett Säle umrüstet, Konferenzstühle für bis zu 4.900 Personen aufstellt sowie Sonderwün- sche wie Auf-/Abhängungen und spe- ziellen Bühnenbau durchführt. Ton-, Bild- und Lichttechnik sowie Internetverbindungen werden bei Bedarf vom Technik-Team der Hofburg zur Verfügung gestellt. Dass die vielen Festsäle stets in Glanz erstrah- len, ist dem Tag und Nacht wirkenden Reinigungs-Team zu verdanken. n The Marketing Team is responsible for the PR and such details as corpo- rate design and co-ordinates the rele- vant activities. The Sales Team keeps in direct contact with the organiser and includes an accountant and controller to keep the event right on track. The actual implementation of the event is handled by the Technical Services Team, which comprises more than half of all employees at the Hofburg. The carpenters, locksmiths, painters and electricians in our workshops ensure our 17,000 square meters of public floor space are always ready for action – including such details as main- taining a shine on the old parquetry floors and caring for our valuable fres- coes and murals. Our locksmiths not only have more than 180 locks and 500 keys to look after; they also build trolleys and do their own welding. And to ensure the events in the historical halls and mod- ern glass structures are radiant with light, we have electricians working round the clock. They lay and check the wires, keep the power flowing at the right voltage and maintain our modern building management systems. Fitting out the rooms and halls for an event is handled by our Setup Team, who work to the tightest schedules to make the necessary changes, provide conference seating for up to 4,900 delegates and meet any special require- ments in the way of wall or ceiling decorations and stage configurations. Sound, video and lighting systems and Internet connections are provided as required by the Technical Systems Team. And to ensure that the many fine halls are always spotless we naturally have a Cleaning Team, which is available day and night. 31|
