Hofburg Vienna – the place to be in 2024!

The Hofburg Vienna has a particularly impressive spectrum of events lined this autumn – with big-name scientific congresses and public fairs and exhibitions set to fill our state halls with design, art, and culture. It’s not just the events themselves, but the sheer variety of formats they feature that makes things so interesting this year. All of which is inspiring everyone in the Hofburg Vienna team to go that extra mile.

Autumn 2024 – knowledge transfer

This year’s autumn events are all about creating an emotional experience, as well as a passion for exchanging knowledge. We expect great interest in the popular public fairs and exhibitions, which are a core element of the Hofburg Vienna event calendar. By focusing on flexible formats and steering clear of “standard events”, we are able to direct all of our energies into developing personalised event concepts with each of our clients instead. There’s a lot happening as far as the rest of the year is concerned, too, and we are well aware of the need to use our resources carefully in an increasingly complex world.

Among the autumn highlights is the HR Inside Summit on 9 and 10 October 2024, which are expected to attract more than 2,500 participants and 80 top international experts to the venue. The summit will share the inside line on all the very latest industry topics in a series of panel discussions. Offering a packed programme, HR Inside will also include keynotes, workshops, and informative exhibition stands designed to facilitate knowledge transfer.

The Hofburg Vienna will also provide a spectacular stage for a number of interesting public fairs this autumn, including Design District 2024. From 4 to 6 October, around 250 Austrian and international exhibitors will showcase the latest trends in design, real estate, automotive, interiors, lifestyle, technology and hi-fi, and art on over 7,500 square metres of exhibition space. And a pair of special shows will focus on fashion and accessories, and circular design and sustainability.

“All of us are looking forward to Art & Antique Hofburg Vienna, which is celebrating a special milestone in 2024,” Alexandra Kaszay announces. This exclusive fair will be held for the 55th time, bringing together leading art aficionados in the staterooms from 7 to 11 November. 40 art dealers and galleries from Austria and farther afield will serve up art of the highest order.

Focusing on cultivating and developing relationships, this year’s events will all offer various opportunities for unexpected and spontaneous interactions. Something that works particularly well in

our unique location. As well as creating extraordinary moments in a setting where past, present, and future converge. Here, ambience, aesthetics, and collaboration all combine to play a crucial role, while unlocking added value for organisers.

Exhibitions – where experience and sustainability converge

Contemporary public and trade shows take a holistic line when it comes to exploring the latest looks: authenticity is key, and targeted statements are the order of the day. Sustainability is reflected everywhere, from stand design to the quality of interaction with visitors. Entertainment and infotainment go hand in hand at all of the exhibitions planned at the Hofburg Vienna. Stunning lighting spectacles act as eye-catchers, drawing participants’ attention to inviting booth designs even from a distance. Additionally, outstanding lectures, panel discussions, and discussion rounds play out on the spacious stage in the Festsaal.

Exhibitions are the eye-catchers! By combining materials, colours, and patterns, exhibitors can create an authentic and compelling setting that leaves a lasting impression on visitors. Taken together, this foundation provides the optimal platform for presenting a wide variety of products.

Technological elements are an essential part of the mix, too: ceiling suspensions and versatile materials create focal points and trigger curiosity. Smooth textiles are often used as attention-grabbing projection canvases, as well as backcloths for logos and messages. Fabric displays also convey lightness, transparency, and harmony, while symbolising innovation and vision.

And decorative elements such as these can be used time and again. Sustainability is more than just a buzzword at the fairs and exhibitions held at the Hofburg Vienna. Sustainable principles are integrated into the overarching exhibition concept to promote positive change in this area. This involves implementing various measures such as resource conservation and waste reduction as well as pursuing climate neutrality and social responsibility goals. The aim is to ensure that events not only achieve their short-term goals but have positive long-term impacts on the environment and society, too.

Looking ahead to 2025 – inspiring and interactive

Event bookings for 2025 and beyond clearly show that Hofburg Vienna is always in demand and remains a hotspot for the congress scene. “A busy Hofburg ball season in 2025, with 17 balls, will

be followed by a number of high-profile international congresses, such as the German Austria AIDS congress “HIV in ¾ Time” from 20 to 22 March 2025 and the ÖGDV Dermatology Conference 2025 in the second half of the year,” Alexandra Kaszay reveals. The OPEC International Seminar 2025 will also return to the Hofburg Vienna and several new acquisitions – all of which will provide industry insiders with the chance to compare notes and network at the highest level.

In addition to harnessing the power of multimedia, communication and content presentation will also play out across several channels at the same time. In future, events will increasingly use colourful, high-vis experiential worlds that are coupled with authentic storytelling to create a deeper emotional response. Perfectly combined images, sounds, texts – and even scents – can create an unforgettable “symphony” for event participants in the Hofburg Vienna’s one-of-a-kind staterooms.

Lounge areas will be staged to make them as inviting as possible, using natural materials for furnishings and accessories. Thinking, moving and experiencing in new ways – this philosophy shapes contemporary event concepts and inspires the work of our long-standing partners at MOTTO Catering and DO & CO a fresh take on enjoyment and a taste sensation. Fully-rounded flavours and a contemporary style never go out of fashion. During the day it is time for a laid-back and informal lunch ambience, while the evenings call for a more formal and exclusive setting, all against the inspiring backdrop of the imperial Hofburg palace.
